A painted brick fireplace can breathe life back into a drab, overused hearth. With the fireplace being a centerpiece in your home you want to make it beautiful, however, ripping it all out and replacing an entire hearth is costly and time-consuming. A bucket of paint and a few brushes can go a long way to refresh your home’s fireplace.
You have two main options for brick, an opaque paint or a limewash coating. Painting is perfect for covering blemishes and soot stains as well as creating a flat cohesive base to work with. Limewashing will leave little hints of the original brick color showing throw for a more lived-in rustic look.
